Sorry about the short story, but i thought you guys might be interested.
Most people can probably remember my thread on fitting 35"/33" tires to my bundera and how i needed a suspension lift. Well I am upset to say the whole thing has GONE WRONG and I am NOT HAPPY.
I decided to fit a 2" Series 2000 suspension lift to the old girl ($300 for the four coils, alot cheaper than the "King Springs" which are exactly the same)
The Coils arived, I fitted them...I was not impressed
They guaranteed me 2" above stock...what a fuc*ing joke, thats all I can say. Yeah it did lift the car, but only about 15mm above stock, and the car now sits on a wierd fuc*ing angle. The car is compleatly uneven, one of the corners is only at its stock height!!!
I then went to the suplier I got the springs off and cut sik... They too were not impressed by the result and got onto the head series 2000 office.
"There is nothing wrong with the springs, the car has a bent chassie." I laughed to myself, I could not belive what they were saying, considering the car sat perfectly flat before I fitted the new springs.
I then had to take out the new suspension and replace it with the old stuff,remeasure everything and then refit the new springs and remeasure.
Wouldn't you know it one of their springs is shorter than it is supposed to be and the others are ok but are not lifting it.
Even though they know one of the springs is short they still think the car is bent, stupid fuc*s.
So the car is short on the front passanger side, and they told me that if I change the back two springs over it will lift the front end up to the suposed two inces. How stupid are these people!
They have now told me that they will most probably replace these spring with a set of custom made springs.
I tell you what, if they dont get it sorted by the end of next week I will take them to small claims!!!
Any way if bundytime reads this could you pleae tell me the dimentions of your custom springs, height, diameter of wire, diameter of inner coil,ect so I can tell them what I want, hopefully they wont stuff this up.
Once again I am sorry about the length.

SPRINGS
I had the same problem with my series 2000 leaf springs for my old lux, took it back only for them to tell me "your chasis is bent". But I told them that the car was perfect before the springs went on. They ended up replaceing them twice. Keep going back until they get it right.

my first post, I feel all warm and squishy inside....
you can get a good lift on the bundera using 80 series front springs in the back and GU front springs in the front, gives about 2 - 3", might need to cut one a bit to level it out and the GU springs are slightly too large diameter, they rub on the frame a bit. if you want really monster lift, go standard height 80 series in front, 2" lift 8o series in back. I am currently running pedders standard height 80 series fronts in the back, and GU fronts in the front, runs pretty well, just makes a bit of noise when it flexes with the front coils rubbing the frame. fits 33's easily, only rub the inner rear sidewalls on the tub, fronts don't run at all. 35's fit ok, some minor rubbing on full flex on the front.

Brian, thanks for the response.
I have heard bad things about using 80 series coils in a bundera, I think it was something todo with the shocks snapping or something. Bundytime will know for sure, but I remembre he told me not to do it.

you have to carefully choose the length of your shocks. I've never snapped one, but destroyed a few of the left hand rear 'inside' shocks. the lift and articulation are worth it.
currently I'm running a HJZ75 front shock as the inner left rear shock, same on the right but with an extension and ring welded on. dodgy, cheap, effective. 80 series OME nitrochargers on thet front.

drive it harder and u will snap the shockers for sure, trust me i have done it time and time again.......its because the rear diff turns downward with so much travel and it twists the shocker mounts.......
To test to c if i am right just get air bourne and c how they bend.......

have 2 air lockers :) there's still no such thing as too much flex.
perhaps the eyes on your shocks are too small? and/or you're using too firm urethane bushes instead of more pliable rubber? I get a fair bit of air under the wheels fairly often and haven't broken any shocks. At full travel/articulation, the whole lower shock bushes are pretty smooshed up. also it's quite possible and fairly easy to cut the rings off the shock and weld them back on at a bit if an angle. or move the pin on the axle. or fit a constant caster suspension.
