hey guys, jus chasing any info. i jus turboed my 2L, standard size turbo running 4psi. running 4.88 diff gears n 35s. it goes insanely better, just wondering what fuel cons to expect? will there be any overheating issues? and how long should i expect it to last? engine has about 185 000ks and well looked after. any info would be great, cheers.

I put the 2L-T Turbo onto my 3L recently. It runs closer to 10psi on mine. I turned up the fuel screw 1.25 turns and see EGT at the turbo of 600C Max (pulling up the gateway in 5th). Fuel consumption isn't much more than before but if you drive it hard (which the Turbo allows you to do more easily) obviously it will use more. Around 400 - 450 kms a tank but mine is a 2.8. I never see the temp guage (stock) go past half way and I haven't touched the cooling system.
I did make up an oil catch can as blow by is pretty bad on these engines and it all ends up in the turbo if you connect it as stock with the breather into the cross over pipe.

got the turbo setup off stock 2LT so would assume its running that standard and on a NA engine which is higher compression probly safer haha, any ideas how long i could expect it to live?

I was told by a mechanic that the 3L engines are pretty much industructible as long as you change oil regularly and most importantly don't let it over heat.
That advice wasn't given when I had a turbo bolted on though. Given the similarity beteen the 2L and 3L I'd assume it stands for both engines.
When I researched before installing my turbo plenty of others said they had their turbo'd 3L and 2L's going strong after 100 000kms. I don't think it damages the engine unless you go nuts with boost or overheat the engine. An EGT guage was one of the 'must have' items recommended by others when installing the Turbo so you can monitor exhaust temps.
