when i first push the pedal it gose right to the floor, but after pumping it a few times it builds up pressure
now im guessing its the master cylinder ??
what i would like to know is if can i slap a 80 series one to give it better feel and stopping power ?

Try bleeding it as follows... Rear left, rear right, front left, front right, then do the LPV (load proportioning valve) last. Should help mate
91 D/C Lux, 3L Denco Turbo, Hi Steer, RUF, IFS Rears, Widetracked, Rear ARB Air locka, 33" Mudzillaaaas on 15x10 Sunnys, Custom Tray
Re: hilux brakes

Re: hilux brakes
Bleed it all again as Ash has posted, and remember to do the LSPV.
As for your question, yes you can fit a master and booster from an 80series on, and yes it should improve your braking.
I upgraded my brakes, and I used an 80series booster and master cyl, and also fitted the vented rotors and bigger calipers from an SR5 LN106 Lux.
Unless you are fitting disc brakes to the rear of your Lux, then get the master cyl and booster off an early 80series, they had drum brakes on the rear, thats what I got mine from.
Only mods needed to make them work, was, slightly egging the hole in the firewall to make the booster sit flush, and, cutting a small section out of the brake backing plate so the calipers would bolt it properly, and had to carefully bend the hard lines into the master.
My brakes are fantastic now, very worthwhile upgrade.
