Best engine depends on what ya budget is
Now point looking at a gen 3 conversion IF ya only wanna spend 2 or 3 K
In QLD you can legally put a carb 350 chev in an MQ/MK on LPG
Theres ,in Perth, a small block chev (350 ???)with a turbo on it in an MQ/MK SWB
Low buck conversion SD33T, they came with them
Turn up the boost maybe run an intercooler
Itll eat most *253/308 powered MQ/MKs
*Depends whats been done to the motors
I see in another thread you have a V8 powered MQ/MK ???
Leave it in there, get it set up correctly,maybe dyno tune
Then get used to the p*ss poor economy

I have a mate with a RB30E + turbo conversion in his MK ute and it HAMMERS. Simple mods too, nice turbo, exhaust, cooler, computer and good fuel system coupled to a 5 speed for awesome results.
