Just wondering, can you reset a bent spring?
Also, cost of reseting just one spring?

Leaf Spring Resetting

I recently interviewed the R&D manager of Carrolls springs in QLD for our TV show and this is the short of what he had to say...
A cold reset will not realign the crystalline structure of the metal and the springs inherent memory will eventually cause it to sag. On the other hand a hot reset done properly will go some way to realligning the grain but it is just the extra labour cost that brings the price up to near that of a new pack, which will always be better than any reset.

I'm not sure about hot resets as i never did any, seems logical if they cost alot just to get a new pack. However, i used to work at Jacobs Spring Works in Footscray, close friend of mine. They do mainly trucks/buses/4wd occasionally a ute. We only did cold resets. The trick is to reset and add an extra leaf or two depending on the weight you carry. Also depending on the weight and type of bush bashing you do, you may put an extra down low in the pack for heavy loads, or near the wrap leaft for better articulation. I thick from memory we charge about $150 for reset and abou 50-80$ for the extra leaf. New packs started around 300. Could be way wrong though as its been awhile since i priced anything and i only pay cost he eh. I have just had my G60 reset, did it myself at factory. Extra leaf in the front. I have a feeling the spring pack is on the way out because its starting to settle a bit. However, the bull bar is off a truck.... and god only knows how much it weights, oh, and the roo. Reset the rear which were already Heavy duty and it also has poly airs which just keep the load off a bit to retain the float up top. Seems good so far. When i fix my winch i and put it back in i may have to go a new pack, but either way new or reset with the winch i will definately need another leaf or two. One other note. when adding a leaf you add an inch of height, murphys law... Any questions feel free.
