getting hilux into 4x4

Post by xXrhodieXx »

my mate just bought a 1984 hilux. We cant't get the thing out of 2 wheel high. Is there something we aren't doing or is the gearbox screwed. There is play in the lever but it won't disengage.

If you mean can't get the stick to move into 4wd try rocking the car on a hill and pushing stick into gear.

thanks for the help. we pulled the shifter out as per the link provided and found 20 years of mud and hair and god knows what else in there. cleaned it out and now we can at least get 2h and 4h.
