Any Hilux xcab body from 84-88 are exactly the same, you could possibly use a later model xcab body too, but Im unsure if the mounts are the same.
Ive just put an 84 dual cab body onto my 86 dual cab chassis, to replace my rusted body.

I think the single cab chassis is the same as the xcab chassis, just a bit longer body. Check the mounts on both to be sure though.

I think dual cab chassis is different though.

I doubt that you will find a LN65 body shell at the wreckers, in useable condition. Most of the cabs at wrecking yards, have eeither been rolled, or are too rusty to repair.

Ive just gone through this looking for a replacement shell for mine, I ended up buying a complete dual cab, and taking the body off, and any bits I needed, and selling what was left.

Look on ebay, search 4wd and 2wd, from what Ive read, and been told, the only difference between 4wd and 2wd is the guards and an extra gearstick.
The guards are flared alot more on the 4wds.

Something to think about.

Really? I would have thought they were all on the same chassis. - was told this anyway.

Does anyone know of someone who has grafted a later body to an early chassis? or know how hard it would be. '87 cabs aren't very easy to find!!

I dont think its too hard to fit a LN106 cab onto a LN65 chassis, it was going to be my only option if I couldnt find a decent LN65 cab.
But I was determined to find another LN65 cab to use, as I really like the shape of the early Luxes.

Have you had a look around for 2wd luxes?? The cabs are pretty much the same, except different guards, and an extra gearstick.

Look on ebay, and anywhere else you can buy cars.
I actually found a couple of 2wd shells over on boostcruising, but they werent in very good nick, might be worth a look.
