Just a very quick one. As my insurance has come in under what I had budgeted on I have been able to pass on savings to the competitors. Its is now $1450 if you have not entered any of the Xtreme Winch Challenges this year, & if you have done the full Series it will be $1100, if you have only done one Round it will be $1350, two rounds $1250.
The rules will be released at the end of July. As far as the rules for vehicle specs the only difference between the XI & the 2004 Xtreme Winch Challenge Series is:- Soft top vehicles must have a 3mm alloy or 1.6mm steel top & tyre size is now 940mm x 350mm at 24psi measured horizontal.
The main changes in the rules is with "outside assistance" & some minor changes to the scoring & penalty wording.
Talk soon.

I had a working group up at the XI event site last weekend. Paul Natolie & myself went back up again today. The SS that have been set up in 4 competition areas (more to come) are great, these have everything in etc. rocks, sand & there are several multiple winches. At the moment due to the dry no water SS yet!!!!!!!! The SS that have been set up will cater for all types of vehicle weather it be petrol or diesel, 4cyl or V8.
The competition areas have some of the best spectator vantage points that I have been able to put into an event. So you will see all the action.
I would like to thank all involved :- Bob, Kane, Peter, Brett, Glen & Anita + kids, Paul & Kel, Alex & Ann, Lance, Rob, Ian, David, Craig & Paul. If I left anyone out SORRY.
Thats all for now.
Regards David (MMM)

I felt that Monday must have been a National " Anti MMM Day". Because due to vehicle & health problems I have had several Teams announce that they would not be able to make the XI it is a pity really because the SS that have been done (and will still be competed on) were some of the best I have seen.
So to make it a bit easier for you all entry fees will be $1100 with an extra 2 tickets for your partners for the trophy presentations. All your supporters will be up for, are Park fees for the week.
The "XI" will run regardless of numbers.
Regards David (MMM)

:)
Only 2 + weeks to go. Entries are still open and it is on regardless. All the 40 SS have been set up & it will be a great week of competitive & techanical winch challenge type SS.
For the spectators it is going to be a big bonus with only 2 or 3 SS running at a time & all within a couple of hundred meters of each other.
Tickets for the Presentation Dinner are available from me at $30 each, plus your park fees for the weekend.
Treaka Terrace will be open for camping as well, so why not come and stay with the competitors & officials while your there.
The last Saturday 5 SS will cost you $5 a head to get in and watch at the comp area.

Now i can see why the southerners dont want to compete maybe to hard for them
Has one of Daves winch comps been won by someone other than a Victorian? I cant remember map, perhaps you could help refresh my memory

As a mater of fact yes the Qlders have won some of the Rounds and the Series have been won by both the Vics & Qlders. The most Rounds won have been by Trent & Wayne. This Team would still be one of the best on offer, horsepower is not everything it is a lot of Team work. But if you go back to the start of the Xtreme Winch Challenge Series records will show that the Queenslanders outplace all in the top 5. They have allways had the majority in the top 5.
But the XI is not the Xtreme Winch Challenge Series, its is 8 days of Off Road Magic with 40 SS in total & at the moment only one has been planed to be driven, even the 20 point GPS SS on Tuesday night will have winching in and with this SS you must find ALL the GPS points to score otherwise you will receive a DNF for the SS. The SS have been set up to require multi winching and a host of obsticals in your path.
The XI will be a lot harder on man & machine then any other winch challenge event seen in Australia or for that the world. The XI will require a lot of skill & brain power to finish. It will be he with the best tactices & reliable vehicle & not pure horsepower to win the event.
So if you think you are good enough & not just on a computer but with a codriver & a well prepared vehicle give us a call and I will gladley accept your entry, if cost is a factor maybe I can work out a payment plan for you.
Then if your state wins then you can say "WE WERE THE BEST"
Until then lets wait and see.
Regards MMM
PS, Martin Lewis (Team England) has had his vehicle cleared & Transport approved as of 1430 hours today. This Landie is a weapon, past Malaysia Rainforest Top 5. Lets see if it has the staying power, I know Martin & Peter Codd have been part of some of the most sucessfull Teams that are competiting in England both as driver & co drivers.
Photos of Landie will be up on my web site by Monday. www.xtreme4x4sport.com.au
Re: Xtreme International
how many entries do you have for it? Just curious
Xtreme International
Eleven, but this will mean it will be a real bonus for the spectators, as I will only be running 2 or 3 SS at a time. Then we will move to the other after those are finished. All bar one day have the SS in the same area & the SS are generally in a close walking distance. etc one day of comp in Toyota Trail & one in Camary Corner and so on.

4 days to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I will be at "XI" Base from Wednesday, if anyone wants to contact me.
www.xtreme4x4sport.com.au has some of the drivers profiles listed at the moment, more to follow, their vehicle photos will be following.
During the event my web site will have a run down on each day of competition & points to date. So even if your not there, you will be able to keep up with what is happening at the "XI". Photos will be added every couple of days (this is due to limited server access at the Park) and having to be sent via snail mail.
Regards MMM
shane & troy broke a cv on saturday double line pulled everything after that. timed out ss3 but gave it a good go.
sunday morning was huge, laurie sternbeck rolled completly over back on to his wheels, same spot did mick ranson go over on to his roof, after a huge self recovery mick and blake finished the stage, 13 sec over time.
everyone is having a red hot go at.

I spent the day there watching some real good driving to-day. I wish I could spend more time there. MMM and crew have done a spectacular job setting it up.
Lots of cars "fell over" this morning, lots of general carnage. The vehicles not only looked good but performed well.
If you can get the time, go there. It is well worthwhile.
