Dyna Gearbox Help

Post by 304runner »

Hi everyone, Im new here so Id just like to start off by saying Hi and how great some of the threads are. Allot of info on allot of things.

I have an 88 4runner that has an injected 304 in it (soon to be 2jz) and its only sporting the G52 and as most of you might already know, Im on borrowed time with it, so I went out and bought myself a DYNA box and when I got it I noticed it had side linkages??

So I called up marks adapters (as I knew they sold a top shifting dyna box) and asked if they were willing to supply me with a top shifting kit for the gearbox I had and they flat out said "no", when I asked why not, they said "big company syndrome I guess" :finger:

So anyways we had a bit of a laugh about it and then after I hung up the phone I realized I was stuck with a really expensive boat anchor.

Is there anyway I can rig it up to work using the external linkages or is there a kit i can buy elsewhere?

I am fairly sure you can pull all the guts out of the dyna box and fit it into any r150, r151,r154 top shift case.
The dyna gear box is also an 'r' series box, I can't remember the number, r450??
