hi,
after a search i cant find any previous topics that answer my problem
i'm putting a swivel hub kit in my y60 ute. my problem is that for an 'unknown reason' it sames the new cv isnt on the axle properly. so when i push on the stub axle it sits about 4-5mm off the hub housing. i can bolt it up but this puts pressure on the swivel bearings (enough to crush one side of one). the new cv doesnt seem to have the small amount of movement on the internal snap ring. i flogged the F*** out of it with a rubber mallet this arvo with no success. this is the first time i've done this rebuild completely by my self so any pointers are appreciated.
cheers micko

y60 swivel hub rebuild problem - help required
Re: y60 swivel hub rebuild problem - help required
got it sorted thanks to my local grease minkey this arv. still fell free to add any think for others. my issue was that when i was putting the cv onto the axle, somehow the circlip pushed forward out of the groove in the axle so it went into the cv first, this caused the axle not to go far enough into the joint as the circlip went into the groove in the joint before the axle got there. its a two person job, but when you start the axle into the cv, push the circlip 'in' so it starts as you tap the axle in with a rubber mallet. many of those who read this will probably know this but it could help any 'first timers' like myself. micko
