Hey guys
So im up to the final stages of the LS1 to hilux conversion in my truck.
Need a bit of advice from the v8 and engine gurus.
The LS1 does not run a return line as it is all done inside the original fuel tank.
My question is should I :
A-buy billet fuel rails with a return in the drivers side rail (prefer to do this as last resort)
B-Drill and tap a fitting into the standard Rail (cheap and easy)
C-Plump my regulator after the fuel pump(bosh 044) but before the fuel rail and run the return off the regulator(preferred method)
D-Not run a return line(if possible?)
The current regulator that i have is this one http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Holden-Commo ... 2a14c195b9" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
There are 3 hose tails-inlet,outlet and Im not sure what the 3rd is for(vaccum,return or other?)

I sell that regulator and it is the one installed in Ben Napier"s car here in the states we also use an LS with a dead head fuel rail system. You need to install the regulator after the pump with the pressure side going to the fuel rail and the return side going back the the tank. the small vacuum port is to drop the pressure a bit at Idle. I don't use it on our race cars but may if it is a street able car.

I understand the part about installing the reg after the pump but there are only 2 large hosetails and then the smaller one which is vaccum on the bottom.
the 2 large hosetails would be used as inlet from pump and outlet to fuel rail therefore only leaving the vaccum port free,Or am i mistaking the vacuum port for the return line?
Sorry if i sound stupid lol this is the first time ive really played with EFI.

No you have it right use the hole that the gauge is in to for the return and plumb the gauge in a T or Y block in the pressure line. I use a -6AN fitting with a 1/8" npt port made specially for a fuel line gauge. I run a 10mm x 1tpmm tap into it to use the metric gauge from that reg. 1/8" npt is very close to 10m x 1m so it works fine. you should have a much easier time finding metric stuff over there I am sure. As good as the metric system is the US just refuses to learn it, I use that to my advantage often by stocking parts most shops don't cause the don't want to mess with metric fittings.georgey wrote:Gday Wayne

Make it easy for your self and get rid of the bosch and regulator and use the factory commodore pump with internal regulator. Guaranteed to work and no problems at all and dead quiet with a real low price tag too on the lux you can probably just chuck the commodore tank in somewhere and make it super simple. Theres no gain in having an aftermarket pump unless you are going for a supercharger on the ls1

Already have a fuel cell,got the pump cheap and thee reg cheap.The commodore fuel tank is a queer shape also and i dont want my truck looking half assed.
Supercharger is a good possibility at a later date anyway.
