Im going drop boxes for the GQ with 4" lift.
What is the benefit of boxes that require trimming chassis versus other boxes that dont require chassis trim?
Is there much difference between brands / manufacturers of boxes? Looked at a few cheapies ones on Shebay but am very mindful of you get what you pay for.

I recently fitted the cheaper drop boxes to a mates GU, they required trimming a small lip off from bellow the original mount for the arm, its non structural and is necessary for the drop box flange to fit snug against the original mounting point. Its easy to see once you have them in front of you and you look under your truck. I would believe the only benefit for the more expensive non cut boxes is saved time and stuffing around. Having said that, It only took me 10 mins to trim with a small grinder and a thin cut off wheel. The whole job is a bit of stuffing around if you plan to do with jack stands in the drive way. You will need to remove your shocks, sway bar and front drive shaft for the arms to come forward enough. I tried to short cut and led to more headaches.

what bruggd said is right. when i did mine i drilled the internal corners first and then cut with the grinder. mainly to have the rounded corner and you get no over cutting with the grinder

thanks for the info guys, and yeah I was going to drill the corners too to prevent stress raisers, and it looks a bit more factory
