Rebuilding Warn Winch Motors

Hi there,
I'm quite keen on rebuilding our winch motor as the carbon brushes seems pretty worn.
I've a 12v 6hp and 4.5hp motor.
One of the 6hp motor when we opened it up it's full of black soot all over the place.
However i can't seem to find out who sells them online.
Google leads me to many places that only just sells replacement motors.

Does Warn sells carbon brushes replacement kits?
Or does anyone knows of any shop that sells them online?
Also i'm quite curious if there are any differences between carbon brushes for a 12V and a 24V motor.
Some joker suggested I should consider fitting carbon brushes from a 24V winch motor into our 12V motor.
Is that possible and is it a worthwhile proposition?

Besides carbon brushes is there anything i should do to the motor?
I also noticed that there is this thin like copper/cardboard brushes that looks disintegrated. Is that necessary to be replaced? It's located next to the armature bearing (correct me if that's what you call it).

Because i would like to know if it's still possible to get the brushes and how much would they cost before I even consider buying a winch motor.

And yes i did bought a new motor only to find out the new one was a bigger lemon.
Hence it would be nice if i could revive 2 slightly baked motor that's lying in the shed.

Brushes should only be around $15-25 compared to a $600 winch motor.

I guess no one sells them online. I'll drop by the local Warn distributor then.

You could also try Ateco here in Melbourne, they are warn importers and auth parts distributors. I got a high mount rebuild kit via them at a surprisingly good price.

I just got the carbon brushes replacement/ drop in kit.
Damn sounds pretty expensive when the bill came up.
Around AUD100 for the 6hp XP motor.

Is that a fair price or u reckon i've been ripped?

I'm quite curious is there such thing as a 24V version for this motor from Warn?
Plus i've always wondered what's the difference inside a 12V and 24V motor.

Yes try DNA, they got me a brush set for a very old M10000, once the contractor was cleaned up and a new bearing was pressed in the difference was night and day.
