simple coil 4runner setup?

Post by dbeverett »

ive got an 84 4runner in about a million pieces, commo v6 setup for it, 35" claws, twin sticks etc, going spartan lockers f/r and longfields up front, i had planned on going ruf/ifs but was worried about ride quality as i want to do abit of touring in it so i started looking at coil rear ends from surfs with 80 series lowers and possibly a radius arm setup for upfront.
everything ive seen shows the radius arm setups in 80s dont flex for shit so im curious if anyone has any suggestions for a realtively easy link/coil setup to run in the front of a 4runner that still gets half decent flex

Not earth shattering flex, but the 3 link does ok for me as a compromise for on road stability and off road flex.
Rear is still factory, just longer coils/shocks.

Check out the 'colonel mustard' build up by Struth in the members section.
He has gotten pretty decent result using 80series arms and links

Custom radius arms by Bubs using std 80 mount points to clear the steering rod on the Bundy diff.

Struth also does great work.
