Commy V6 conversion

Post by 91Mav »

G'day fellas,

Looking at putting a VT engine and 4L60e in my YN65 Lux. Hoping someone can help with a couple of questions:
1) does anyone have a wiring diagram for the VT ECU/PCM and wiring?
2) has anyone used a Yellow Box speedo corrector between the VSS and PCM? If so, did it fix the auto's shift points with different gearing? I may manualise the box but want the lean cruise and lock up to work properly.
3) any other tips or tricks?

Thanks,
Josh

Check the Surf site.
ToyotaSurfforum or something like that, it has a section on different conversions for Lux/4runner/Surf.

Think you will find the vs,vr,vp,vn are more viable options dont know if the vt is possible. Thats just what I have heard but look into it.

Hey mate we have a zook at work it uses vn-vp engine,

I've been told that they are easier to use as far as wiring and auto wiring

Thanks for the offer andmat. I've bought a VX V6 and auto though.

The reason VN/VP's are more common is because the auto is hydraulically shifted whereas the 4l60e's are controlled by the PCM. The Yellow Box I'm referring to intercepts the electronic signal from the VSS and adjusts it by a % depending on your different gearing and tyres. Has anyone used one of these? I'm wanting the box to shift normally and retain the torque converter lock up.

Does anyone have a wiring diagram for a VT/VX? I'll be using a VT ECU with VATS removed memcal ($140 all up - cheaper than $450 BCM simulator) as VX ECU's don't have memcals and the two are interchangeable.

I know VN conversions are a little easier but 127kw compared to 172kw with better economy... Easy choice really

Found wiring diagrams for VR, VS, VT, VX and VY's. If anyone else needs them, they're at http://delcohacking.net/forums/viewforum.php?f=32" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Anyone used a Yellow Box?

I might just try it and see
