Rear passenger door not opening, faulty mechanism.
Rear passenger door not opening, faulty mechanism.
Both the rear doors on my Gq wagon are difficult or impossible to open. The lock button is difficult to disengage even then the door handle does not work consistantly. I've pulled them out and cleaned them this helped but has not solved my problem. Nissan has quoted me over $200 a mechanism, have not really got a spare $400+ at the moment. Is there a fix for this problem ? Thanks Feral
Anything is possible, it just comes down to time and money.

Re: Rear passenger door not opening, faulty mechanism.
i had a similar problem on my front drivers door, couldnt open it from the inside.
What i done was remove door card locate the wire (just like fencing wire) that goes from catch mechanism to handle. using a pair of pliers grab the wire and twist just a little bit putting 2 small kinks in it this makes it shorter
done the trick for me

If i just overtook you head to your nearest mechanic
Re: Rear passenger door not opening, faulty mechanism.
there is a plastic pin looking thing that goes through a hole in a metal tab on the back of the handle, you need to bend the tab so the shoulder on the pin hits it sooner...
pull the door card off and wiggle the handles and you will see what I mean.
