adjustible air suspension

Post by john doe »

Hey all,

been thinking about suspension systems for my 80, and thought if it were possible to use ride hight adjustible airbags and get upto 5" lift and good travel, that coupled with adjustible ranchos etc. then you could have a low firm setting for onroad use and a tall soft setting for off road.

don't yet know to much about airbags to know if this is even possible though.....

what do you think ?

ranchos aren't much chop for heavy, coil (or air for that matter) spring vehicles - they are designed for leaf spring systems and don't provide good control for coilies like GQ, GU, 80, 105 series etc.

consider instead the other brands of adjustable shocks that are emerging which are designed for use with coil spring systems.

as for the airbags, anything's possible.

and look here www.airbagit.com for all the cooooool stuff.
