Ive got a TH700/turbo 700 behind a 308 and it has been fitted with a B&M mega shifter. Promlem is, while I had it out of the car, it's been stolen all I've got left is the cable..
Do I have to refit a mega shifter? Or can I use a 'pro shifter' - the ones that only move one spot up and down. I'd rather have a Pro shifter but if It's not compatible with the cable and bracketry then I'll just get another 'mega shifter'
Personaly i like the pro stick (with the lever) as you can rip it into any gear. With the pro ratchet you have to go through the cycle so to speak. All depends if it's a forward or reverse shift pattern aswell.
I've had B&M shifters in different vehicles & never had an issue. If you take the time to setup properly they will last. I did wear a gate plate in my street/drag car but that was just from abuse. Another thumbs up for the Pro Shift also.
I've run ratchet shifters with no drama's, a trick is to give the gate a bit of graphite dust every 6 months.
I run a full manual built T700R4 in my daily with a modded B&M Quick Click ratchet shifter and it is smooth to shift.
Good fun to drive.
Cheers
Andrew
