LRA.
No dramas, except the way the top of the main tank is formed, the channel the sender/ transfer pump wiring loom sits in causes the wiring to be stretched to full extension..
On a desert trip a couple of years ago the wiring rubbed through = couldn't transfer from sub tank and had dead fuel gauges. Wiring was an easy enough fix on return home.
Oh, and... (ok, so some drama's I guess ) doing the Finke to Alice stretch, the corrugations were horrendous. As a result one of the internal baffle spot welds in the bottom of the sub tank pulled through, resulting in a constant drip from the sub tank. On return home, LRA inspected it, and fixed it no problems. At the time they said they had never seen that happen, but some web searching did find similar stories, but not only with their tanks. Seems to be a sub tank problem only though.
That's it. Both my tanks have scrapes and dings and cop some abuse regularly.
Given the conditions and abuse it can be subject to with a full fuel and car load, I am not surprised in having some issues, but was pleased with their after sale support. You get that from a company with a good name I guess.

I've had a Brown Davis long range tank under my shorty for about 8 years, and can't complain.
At the time, they didn't have the best of reputations for quality control, but the only issue I had was a hose fitting - they supplied an elbow that couldn't be installed (next to the filler neck) so a quick trip to Enzed was required.
They customised the tank to suit a 2" body lift, and double-skinned the bottom for me (well, they say they did, and I haven't managed to bash my way through the bottom yet).
I spoke to an engineer about a custom designed tank, and he gave me some tips on how to design one - based on what he advised me, the B-D tank looks good. Based on 8 years of use and abuse, I can't complain about it.

I will be pulling the gas tank out of my GQ and putting the fuel tank back in (gas no good as only do 1-2 long trips a year)
I am thinking I may as well upgrade it to a 145ltr long range
Was looking at the LRA tanks but anyone got any feedback on Mitchell bros as there a cheaper (but I am worried about the old you get what you pay for)
