G'day all,
I have been experiencing a very spongy feeling in my brake pedal lately.
I had a vacuum leek in the booster so got that rebuilt and add a double diaphragm and replaced the master as well. She has new pad and rotors less than 10000 km old. Braided brake lines and a pro portioning valve extension all equally matched. When the booster came back and it was all bleed up it still has that horrible pedal feel that feels like inches before I feel pressure. The car stops but not like it should.
Has anyone had similar experiences and possible solutions.
Cheers guys

Does the brake pedal pick up quicker if you pump it a few times? If so, re-bleed the system including the preportioning valve. If the pedal's heavy, check the vacuum line - you would wanna hope the rebuilt booster's fine. I've never had a diesel so I'm not sure if the alternator can have problems with the vacuum.
Did you get bendix or ferodo pads? Personally, i hate them both. Get some EBC Green Stuff pads - they're $200 but work well.

There may be a bleeder nipple on the proportioning valve to help get air out.
I had a similar problem in my pootrol and in the end I took it to my mate and all he did was bled the p.valve & rears and all good.
It was only a problem after I did major work like you have done and it had a lot of air in the system
See how you go

check your vacuum pump.. there are bakelight blades in the vacuum pump and they can disintergrate leaving you with little or no vacuum.
You should be able to take a vac line off near the booster or vac canistor and check it with your finger over the pipe. with the engine running/
other thing to check is a one way valve in the vacuum canister, it can leak vacuum if faulty.
