Outer Limits 4x4 Board

heres is my build.
its a 1980 f100 4x4 with a 250 cross flow boat anchor.
the plan:
put a diesel in it
rebiuld the hole thing
2'' suspension lift
coil rear end
lockers f&r
tricky tray
f&r winches
200 litre tank
100 litre water tank with tap outlet
and some other bits and pieces

are there any others on here that i can pull some inspiration from? as the yank ones arent my cup of tea.

hey mate im currently looking into finding an f truck for truggy project. what front diff does yours have?

From what I can see looks like a Dana 44

yeah mate dana 44, the yanks dont like them, but thats because they give it a 100'' lift and stick 200'' tyres on it, lol. the diff will put up with a ridiculous amount of abuse, the lsd in the rear is second to none. the drive line of the 70's to 80,s f trucks are built like a medium ridgid truck, drive shafts are huge, cvs are huge.

things to look out for on the aussie ones.
people always talk about f100s and cracking chassis, with out knowing the facts and makes fools of themselves. yes they do crack, only the aussie ones, the reason was a very poor rhd conversion and a worse power steer and steering box mount. the rest is dynamite.

stock final drive is 3.5 and the they only weigh a ton, with the lwb model like mine, the wb is 117'', so a bit long but once you see the wheel track of 1654mm for the front and 1636 for the rear respectively, it is one stable truck, the front suspension setup is made for offroad, and the rear is o.k, if you are going to keep the ass leaf, you will need a track bar.



they are hell expensive imo, and parts are a bit thin on the ground, for a truggy it may be a bit big, my suggestion would be to wreck and cut up a hilux, plenty of cheapos and plenty of parts. or make the effy into a cool registered social wheeler.
