hi all,
i have a 100 series landcruiser and it seems to be lacking a bit of power, it feels like an intermittent miss fire but we've had everything checked by toyota and they can't find anything wrong with it. they've flashed the ECU and tranny computer but the problem persists.
has anybody come across any similar problems?
cheers TC

Re: 100 series 4.2lt turbo efi lacking power
could be a number of things.
what condition is the air filter in
what condition is the fuel filter in
any boost leaks
what condition is the exhaust in
how many kms.
whats the service history like
had any bad fuel lately.
I do a fair bit of work on these motors and there very robust. usualy its something simple.

I tighten the turbo charge pipes every time i service mine and the father in-laws 100's. I have picked up a noticeable difference afterwards.

intersting, ive never done this. You mean the inlet air engine side of turbo>? not the exhaust flange?PSI316 wrote:I tighten the turbo charge pipes every time i service mine and the father in-laws 100's. I have picked up a noticeable difference afterwards.

The charge pipes. From turbo to intercooler and back to intake manifold. There is 8-10 clamps there. You may need to remove the plastic gaurd in the drivers side wheel arch to tighten them all.
