GQ twin piston caliper

Post by frodog »

Hi, I want to convert an 89 gq to twin piston calipers. What model or year are the donor calipers from and do they bolt straight up? Also should the booster/master cylinder be used as well. Does this mod make a good increase in stopping power. Is there a mod for the rear brakes, I have discs up the back already. Cheers.

4.2 EFI Gq have them, you will need the bolts and the master cyl from the same car aswell

I'm also wondering if its worth it, much better stopping power or resistance to fading?
Or would I be better off with decent pads and slotted rotors?

you also need the disc as its bigger,,,,

Late model GQ's have em, but also look at a GU front end swap, which gives to bigger brakes, bigger cv's.... wide track etc
Nice gq swb ute chop with a huffer for the good times
