Power Steering Pump TB42

Post by JJBigWheels »

Hi Guys,

My power steering pump on my comp truck died or got very sick at the last comp, just wondering if I should look at a custom set up or just stick with a standard Nissan pump?

Its for enduro winch challenge type events running Tb42 turbo motor and 37" treps.

Any thoughts appreciated
Cheers

stick with the original, they are easy to find, petrol and diesel are identical except for the side the hose bolts onto, but can be interchanged cheaply. easy to rebuild and not to difficult to get a bit more pressure out of. a hydraulics man can sort em easy. there are plenty of aftermarket industrial style pumps out there but unless running a ram you will buy and mod a few genuine pumps for the money you will spend on a custom unit. if on the other hand you want hyd assist or full hyd steering, goe the bigger pump.

i would stick to the standard one too. I use a standard gq pump on my full hydro set up and it works fine
