I have been lookingat purchasing a 05 or 06 patrol wagon and have notice that there has been a couple that have had the dash all bubbled like it has been to close to the fire and blistered. Is this a common issue due to the harsh Australian sun or likley to be some other unerlying cause?
Thanks. David

Re: Bubbling dash on GU patrols??
Tis common particularly up in the north... was a big warranty issue not sure if they cover out of warranty ? Mates GU was replaced 3 times under warranty .

Re: Bubbling dash on GU patrols??
I'm in Vic, mine was replaced after it bubbled very quickly after a few years of ownership. It was outside warranty at the time, but Nissan still replaced it after I spoke to them in as nice a way as I could (ie groveled)
The new one they got from Nissan parts to replace it with they found was also bubbled when they took it out of the box. Lol.
It's a known issue, Although I know of a bloke who was declined recently after he supposedly went into Nissan with all guns blazing. A lesson to be learned perhaps?

Re: Bubbling dash on GU patrols??
Sounds like a later model problem?
My 2000 model has no damage and lives in the sun up here. I can think of 3 other 2000-2001's that are fine too. All never garaged.

GU td42 ute with go fast bits and go futher bits
Re: Bubbling dash on GU patrols??
We seen it on the work cars from around 2007, mates car is a 2008 . So would make sense that it is a later model fault .

Re: Bubbling dash on GU patrols??
Mine was a series 4 2005. It's that model to about 2008/9 that has the issue from what I've seen.

Re: Bubbling dash on GU patrols??
Mine is a late 2007 and the dash has already been replaced once and needs to be done again next service.
