Hilux Auto

Post by MARKx4 »

I'm about to start collecting parts for a new project i want to start later in the year, i have decided to run a 3rz with auto and hopefully a lt230 transfer case. It looks like i need to buy the motor and gearbox separate so i was wondering what is the part number of the gear i need and is it possible to adapt a lt230 to a hilux gearbox?

I was looking at the same combo if I was gunna build one. The Gearbox is a A340F. You can get from about $350 +, some people are asking too much. Radesigns over the states do a manual shift for them which is cheap. Ask Buds Customs to see if he could do one up.

I think this would be a good combo, just heard the lux autos like to be kept cool.

Good luck.

I've been also thinking that a dual case setup using a front half hilux case up front to a LT230 would be a cool combo. Would be pretty strong and give good gear choices and no need to upgrade cromo hilux output etc. Also if ya know the right people you can get the LT230 tricked up to get internal rear disconnect.

Thanks for the reply, the dual case set up sounds interesting but i don't think ill have alot of room as this is either going into a lwb sierra or a rocky with the top off and caged.

Plus im new to toyota and rover gear so im pretty sure im going to be annoying alot of people once i start.

It is a Lexus auto which I think is the A440 but I think it has the same output as the A340
