I have a 90 LN106 solid and just recently there has been an intermittent tapping noise that seems to come from under the passenger floor.
It only lasts for say 5+ seconds. Can't see anything loose underneath. If when it is doing it then stops and i turn it off it does it again for the same time. But not all the time either
It first did it when i'd put it in reverse stationary and yesturday it did it in neutral.
I'm no mechanic but i was thinking either the gearbox mount or an engine mount may cause this.
Also thinking about this i had heard the odd noise like something metalic rattling/tapping occasionally in that area also.. but not every day.
The engine mounts are new but the "mechanic" back 3 years ago whom i wont winge about may have used cheap rubbish.
The gearbox mount is original and the cars done 335k
Going to my new found mechanic this morning at total traction to get a beaudesert full system on and will get him to rack his brain.
Just thought i'd ask on here incase someone has had this problem.
