OK im looking at a new(to me) 4x4

86 model bj74
13bt
a440f
push button 4x4

The thing is all standard as far as i can tell its got aprox 270k's
has air con power steer all the bells and whistles

Asking price is $12990

What are you thoughts on this(what should it be worth)

i know being auto it will be a dog i took it for a test drive this morning seems to drive good, suspension needs a little work but

Any thoughts on problems i may encounter or any problems to look for

Its not gonig to be used as a hard core rock crawler just looking for something with a little more comfort for crawling around paddocks while hunting and as a daily driver

many thanx in advance

74 series is mid wheel base landcruiser running leaf springs, 13bt is toyota 3.4 diesel turbo charged. awesome engine from all accounts, excellent offroad.

roof racks give you some extra storage space, alloy bar is light (not much else going for it :) ). new suspension minus shocks will cost you around $1100, new tyres another $1000 plus ?, shocks prob around $500.

these cars are great but i reckon this one is overpriced

cheers

p.s. if you have any more info/pics of the roof rack mounting i'd be interested, trying to fit one to my 73 series (no cloth interior no turbo)

thanx for your reply's

ive decided to keep the old girl for now and give it a cab off rebuild

the only reason i was looking at a new one is because my hilux has quite alot of rust in the cab
but in the last 6 months ive replaced the motor, gearbox done a full rebuild on the front diff and ive got a rebuilt rear diff to go in. so basicly the truck is all new except the cab

So decided im gonna pull the cab off send it away to be stripped clean inside and out plate up all the rust and give it a new paint job

then it should see me happy for another 5 years
