Hi. Can anyone advise if I can swap a rear axle from a Mitsubishi L200 K74 into a 1993 K24?
My K24 diff is singing and 2nd hand spares are no longer available so I was thinking of fitting an axle from the newer K74 model. Any advise would be appreciated.
One problem I have is that I am unsure of the diff ratio on the old axle.

Axle Swap L200

Re: Axle Swap L200
I cannot help specifically, but from memory the L200 is a 2WD van, so diff ratio change will only affect your speedo reading and possibly the overall performance of the vehicle. If it is a 4WD, then you will have problems in 4WD on hard surfaces for sure. The other things to look for would be the spring mounts, shock absorbers and the tailshaft coupling flange. I imagine that the wheelbase would be the same, or if not, very similar and should not pose a problem.

Hi Thanks for your reply. The (UK) L200 is a 4x4 pick-up. other names worldwide are Strada, Mighty max. It was produced @ 1986-1996 ish.
Re: Axle Swap L200
hey Date, your memory is not very good as the L200 is a 2 and 4 wheel drive ute here is australia (predecessor to the triton) you are thinking of the L300 but it also comes as a 4wheel drive as well
