The problem you will have is the idler gear in the t/case (where the hatch is) mating to your PTO drive gear.
The 86 Paj will have a ratio of 1.944:1 the Gen 2 has a ratio of 1.925:1.
I have never seen a factory PTO on a Gen 2 :?:

I the input gear on the PTO shaft able to be removed ?
If it is a gearcutter could cut a new run that will run with the 1.925 idler gear in the t/case but he will need an idler gear as well. It would cost several hundred $$ for a one of gear cut.
Honestly I would just bung in a Warne 8000lb low mount for the cost and stuffing around with the PTO which has a much lower line pull rating.
