In the front on my 4runner my suspension set up is, 2 inch drop hangers, 2 inch extended shackles and 2 inch lifted rear springs. The new hangers sit about half an inch further forward and the spring location bolt is 1 inch further forward then standard front springs.
The front tail shaft is about 6-7 inch further forward then factory position. my question is, what do others do, make an new longer tail shaft or are you able to use the shaft out of something else and run the hilux flang end of the universal joint to mate it up
What's the best option?

If you check out local wreckers you may be able to find something right length and change the flanges.... but if you have good suspension travel you are going to have to get a longer spline put in your shaft because it will keep dropping out.(More of an issue with different from standard spring packs- eg rears in front or drop shackles.)
I've just had it done in Brisbane, think it was $500 or so.

yeah i'm hoping that a tailshaft out a cruiser or bundy might work. i definately need a longer spline. basically looking for a cheap quick fix because i want to run dual transfers. does anyone know of a toyota that has a longer spline then 100mm? i think that's the standard hilux length

My advice is save your cash and hold out till you have your duals in and then purchase www.dobbinengineering.com/ his tail shaft you wont look back
I have two on mine. These suckers have 10" of slip and can run 45deg
Price is on the site.
better than standard shaft's by a long shot.
