35's and gearing issue's with a lux

Post by Macca177 »

Ok the 33's are nerlay gone and nearly ready to be replaced....i read threw many previous posts bout gearing etc..... i dont really want to change any r&p or gears just yet..$$ mostly the cause..that wil be down the track but how drivable is it on 35's for a daily driver and off road?

brakes and speedo out isnt much of an issue this is gettin sorted soon.
just how capable the rig is for everyday use as well as offorad??

im guan borrow sum 35's and give it a try but not for a little while longer yet.

or do i just stick with 33's or mayeb 34's?
thanks again!
Cheers, Hayden!

ok the next big question is what motor do you have in it as that will determine how it will run with 35's

And what ratio`s do you have if you got 4.8`s you will drive them ok on road except for hills :x and for offroad they will dog down on anything they needs a bit of right foot thats if you got the standard motor ect.

r&p

ring and pinions probably cost 1000 to do both ends, but as u go up in ratio they get weaker,
ive got a rebuilt 22r in my bundera and with 35's it eats my mates patrol who has 32 inch tyres me other mate has a hilux with 2.8 diesel and 31's and i can beat him as well....point is u can turn them but u have to thrASH them

to get stock gearing with the 35s you need to run 5.29s
you can find hiace centers around for about $250 and its easy job to take your old centers out and put the new ones in.
