35 inch tyre weights
What's the lightest 35" tyre out there, assuming it would be a skinny one- for a roof mounted spare?
How about running a 16X6" alloy rim and a 9.00X16 truck tyre. I'm sure that some 35 12.5's might be lighter but they will be whole lot more bulky.
Also, the 9.00 could be squeezed onto a split rim, while this is not in itself lighter, the combination of a narrow many plied tyre and the split rim will mean that it is a very repairable option.
Otherwise, maybe an all terrain?

Agree, because if it's ply rating some can be twice the weight of a 35
