Auto onto 1uzfe

Post by MEX »

This is a mates topic as he cannot get a sign on from the work computer.

Anyway, great article on posted on the same topic, but i have a few questions.

Can you bolt the A343F trans to the 1uzfe? (what is involved?)

Will the factory ECU from a crown front cut run the gearbox?

This 4wd will mainly be a beach runner and therefore will not require a strong gearbox (strong enough to cope with the motor obv) and why is the chain drive t'case a down side? For this app?

1. Not directly. You take the bell housing off the Crown box and bolt it to the A343F. The gearbox casing's are nearly identical.

2. Probably not but don't quote me. The A343F runs a different valve body to the A341 and A340E. The car based auto's are more complex with an extra shift control solenoid which the A343F doesn't have. The lockup TC solenoid is also different between the two aswell. The A343F has simple on/off system where as the others have proportional control. It seems the two drive solenoids are similar between the two. The connectors and how they're are wire is quite different too.

3. The chain driven unit is not a downside for what you want. Not everyone wants to go rock climbing. My project's purpose is for beach work and bush bashing. I'm in WA with 80 kms of beach at my door and plenty of scrub out the back. It looks as though you need to make up a hybrid A341F unit up like myself.

Good luck.
