I could be wrong here but depending on what size body lift you have will affect how much work it is. With a 3" lift the seam of the tank ends up above the rear cross member where as with a 2" lift it would end up half way up the cross member which would cause you problems. If you have a look at my bodylift photo file theres some pix of the tank before and after and you'll see what I'm talking about. http://au.f2.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/mudfkrs/my_photos
I have the 3" lift and with removing the fuel vapor separator off the top of the tank I gained 90mm of lift. Theres a few ways to do it heres one
http://www.k9rdj.co.uk/tanklift.htm or the way I done was to reuse the mounts you cut off and weld them back on to the top as in my pix's.

I've done it on my sierra. See thread "project nuki".
I've used a vitara tank (fits between the chassis rails), need to modify the exhaust to exit from the side and cut a hole in the floor for the tank to stick through.
The bottom of my tank is level with the bottom edge of the chassis rails.
PM your details if you want some pics.
