You will have to cut the front guards to fit em in, I know you have to cut heaps to fit 37"s. Unless its a comp truck why :?: :?: :roll:
if you want it done properly do it yourself

While living in Vic I used to run 38.5 Boggers on mine but admitedly with 4.625s I didn't have the power even with the 4.2 turrbo to spin them at will. There was a big difference between 35's which I could chirp on the black stuff and the boggers.

All that said, I've got a set of 5 38.5x11x16 Boggers with 95% tread on custom offset steel wheels and Tyrelock beadlocks I'd be happy to sell you for $2750. Hell, 1 has never even been fitted, let alone run on the truck.

I run 37" Xterrains in the rocks now and have done so since moving to NSW. If my math is correct then 4.88 with 37-38's and 4.625 with the 35's should be about the same.
I'm not very good looking, so I guess I better be useful . . .

I forgot to mention that I run close to 7" of spring lift and 2" of body lift and needed to chop nearly 4" out of the front guards at the rear to get the required clearance at full flex. You could possibly get away with less chopping if you fitted some of those control arm spacers nut I'm not sure how legal they are in all states.

It takes a couple of hours on each side with a heat gun to bend the factory flares enough to meet the cut guards and keep everything looking standard.

To find out what diff gears you have. Have alook on your compliance plate. Where it says transaxle code (think this is it), it says something like HG??. 4.8's where never a Factory option, 5.29 was an opion but only in Iceland and they dont really want to share them with the rest of the world (have heard they are weak anyway).

So anyway -
HG41 = 4.1
HG43 = 4.3
There are a whole heap of other numbers there also, but it is only the first to after the HG that count.

Not stock they wont be. No Patrol comes stock with 4.88's.

And if they have been changed from new, then looking at the HG4.x on the compliance plate wont do you any good. That only shows you what it came out with from factory.

Running 38's, I think you would need a good supplier of clutch plates in a standard truck.
