best mod/worst mod

Post by sierrajim »

Due to the "all these threads are useless without pics" syndrome. Here's another question.

Whats the best mod you've done to your rig, whats the worst mod and why?

Based on my 90 Vitara 3 door (sierra not finished yet)

Best mod: Front air locker, the improved traction was amazing, even with a relatively stock vehicle it meant that i could go so many places (and bust so many CV's)

Worst mod: Ironman suspension lift, than damn thing was way too stiff, but hey it carried the load well???
Well I'm guessing that they didn't think everyone would carry on like a big bunch of sooky girls over it like they have........
For my serria the best mod would have to be the welded rear. Worst mod would have to be the new tape player I put in. It only lasted 2 days due to a incounter with a big mud hole.
Its a wheelbase thing

Best mod: Air locker/LA Locker tied with Series 3 rockhopper. just the added control on the vehicle was amazing. being able to slowly creep thru obstacles rather than hitting it with revs

Worst mod:Corolla engine. The actual engine has been very good lots of torque etc but I wished I'd had gone with the Vitara engine to keep it all Suzuki and to have a more modern engine

wheels i reckon... cos i haven't really done anything that exciting with mods. makes a heap of difference having the offset rims for more stability, and the 31" muds for traction and clearance

worst? gearing needs to be done properly, i got something that isn't crawler, but isn't stock - makes it driveable with 31s, but can't really crawl

Best - suspension and coil spacers giving extra clearence, i have commordore shocks in the rear giving heaps more wheel travel, BFGs are great, and my 6x9s in the back

Worst- i bought some yoko geolander tyres and they were hopeless, and costs more than BFG,
97 SWB 2.0lt Vitara RED
50mm lift
225/70/R16 BFG AT
Kick arse stereo

no one best mod , have to be 3= tyres lockers and gearing , as only one of these mods wouldn't do much with out the others

worst would again be a combination of spoa with 2"springs and 2" body lift on a n/t
if its worth doing do it intensly , better still do it with MADPASSION

set your limits way beyond your abilities
