Oil Leak

Post by MikeP »

My 3.0L GUTD has developed an annoying oil leak on the left rear side (passengers) of the engine I have can't see where its coming from.
I don't want to take it to my "friendly" Nissan dealer, I have no faith in their diagnostic capabilities following recent dealings with injector pump (that's another story)
The only place I can see that it seems to be coming from is from near the turbo but can't get cover plate off.
Any one got any clues

Spray with degreaser, hose off, go for a drive and look for fresh oil.

Do what Bazzle said & then check the oil filter housing for tightness as they are a cartridge type & can be fiddly.
Don't ask me, ask them. I'm just runnin for my life myself.

Oil Leak

Post by MikeP »

Have checked around oil filter and housing, it seems to be coming from the turbo. I haven't been able to get to it yet as I've had trouble removing the cover plate, it would appear the you have to remove cooling hoses intercooler and hoses, the workshop manual is of no use at all
