You Dream It Up And Well Spend Someone Else's Money

Post by Extreme_Trans »

It would seem that I have just been given the task of doing the full make over on four ( 4 ) 2003 4.8 Nissan Patrols, 2 of them have the 5 speed auto and the other 2 the manuals. Wholesale Automatics will be handling the modifications to the 5 speed automatic transmissions but I need to do a Full fit out on all 4 of them. What I need is any information I can get regarding Long Range Tanks, Bull Bars, Winching Systems, Sand Anchor, Driving Lights (Broad Beam Only, Not Pencil Beam), Road/Desert Tyres, Road/Desert suspension, Roll Cages, Heavy Duty Clutches, Exhaust Systems, Chips, Snorkels, and any other things that you think would help me fit these Patrols out. I need suggestions for everything just short of the kitchen sink so we can bring The Dream 4.8 Patrol

I also need to gain as much Reliable Power as I can get out of the engines. They are not competition vehicles but they might as well be. Please give me as many idea's that I can follow up on but these have to be reliable quick desert patrols as I am sending all 4 of them to the U.A.E (United Arab Emirates) when I am done. Any personal experiences would be appreciated! I realize that I am more than likely going to have to rework the engines to get the power out of them if I have to. Someone must already be doing this sort of thing!

We will not be fitting tow bars or roof racks at this time so I don't need anything on these. I am thinking about documenting the whole rebuild with photos and news updates. Sort of a "You Dream It Up And Well Spend Someone Else's Money" and put it all together in these 4 Nissan Patrols.

Look forward to hearing from you all
Regards

try ringing a big company such as arb and see what they would recomend. im sure they would be glad to hear from you. You have to take into account what the 4wd is going to be used for to work out what gear to fit to them

If your building a car to get flogged in the desert remember that weight is the ememy. Don't go too tall in the springs or tires. If you can find out who built Les Siviours Class 7 racing patrols and talk to them you should get some good ideas on power and reliability.

Rod we are currently building up our GU, your more than welcome to have a look, plans are to have it ready by National 4x4 Show in October.
We are going through the similar process of setting the up the same car.
Ours is a 4.2 diesel with a custom turbo & intercooler setup.
Our's will be set up for touring/luxury and planning on getting 200kw at the wheels.
It will also have TV's, DVD Player ect. 6 point roll cage, LRA Fuel Tanks, Twin Koni Shocks/Dobinson Springs and hydraulic bump stops.
We are also suppliers of ARB, WARN for your winch and bar needs. Currently we are making a custom bar for a GU also.
We have found a headlight upgrade that you would find very interesting, nothing anyone has seen before.
Best place for exhaust system is Unique Exhausts in Barry St.
If you want to come down and have a look we always have plenty of competition cars and tourers in our workshop, we are located at
