Have changed my rear drivers bearings before as they had no grease when pulled apart the outer most bearing was cactus replaced just pulled the rear axle down to fit a Airlocka and found the same axle has filed with water and mud and washed out all the grease im going to fit new bearings again question is how do you no when you have the bearings seated and preloaded as as far as i can remember you fitted the outer race to the housing then fitted the outer bearing then the oil seal then fitted that assemble to the axle no worries you then had to press the inner bearing into the the houseing what i want to no is how do you no how far to push it in last time just went by feel for pre load then its washer and nut put back in diff
Other question is can you fit the axle out of a drumm brake diff into a disc brake one and dose it have to be the drivers side looked the same to me
