Just been drooling over engines on http://www.v8engines.com/engine.htm

Do we have anyone like this in Aus?

Their prices in the UK are bloody good, but once you convert against the Aus peso.......... :bad-words:

try triumph/rover spares. never delt with them but they appear to stock both short and long rover v8 motors from looking at their website. No idea of the quality though.

We've been thinking of getting one of their 4.9l high compression short blocks. But since we have no idea about them and that their based in another state we are quite hesitant.

From personal experience I would strongly advise not to use Triumph. I'm not going to go into details (its been discussed before) but i do not know of one Land Rover workshop in Melbourne who think highly of them.

Surely someone has had a 4.6/5.2 built? Or a 4.6 and liked the job done?

Anyone?

I have heard a rumour of a 5.2 now getting around in Vic, haven't yet seen the engine though.

It's an option, but they are heavier and I will need adaptors, and I should piss off the Rover box.......

Might just tie a Clydesdale to the front of it!! :D

Mate dont bother with a chev you'll have to change a shit load and have to get adapters work out both the costs.

if your not convinced give adrian a call from rangieautomotive in lilydale he races his rangie ute (kurmit) and is just running in his 5.2.

he may even have his worked off its tits 4.3 for sale i think that has around 150kw at the wheels.

either way speak to him and tell him that you spoke to James and he'll look after u.

Thanks Morkz! :D

Will be on the horn to him this morning.

Chev was never an option, too much modification required and despite it's faults, that little Rover engine is a bloody good thing if you look after it!

Some of the other parts on the car leave a lot to be desired though.

Oh so true but if your look after it you'll be right

it's all the small shitty typical land rover things that tend to stuff up when u least want them to.
