tranny issues???
well guys.... i'm a bit worried about my tranny here.... ever since the engine/tranny pulled apart.... i cant get the damn thing to stop leaking.... well yesterday.... i stuck it into reverse and it made this funky noise.... took it out of gear... put it back in gear and didnt hear it again... ever since then. when i'm in 5th gear.... i have ALOT of play on the gear stick itself... i mean its REALLY moving.... would it be safe to assume that the tranny fluid is low? i'm afraid to crawl under and pull out the wrong bolt so i refuse to touch it.....
its a Strine thing and i just dont understand!
Being completely serious now PV. As much as you seem to love the truck, you are a student who requires a daily driver that's reliable and you don't exactly have a mountain of money at your disposal.
Why dont you sell the thing.... it seems to be falling apart at the seams mate. Parts are a pain in the arse to get in the US and when you find them they're not cheap. There's no one there that really has a clue what the thing is let alone how to fix it.
My suggestion is patch it up, sell it and buy something thats locally made with readily available inexpensive parts.
Then again I am getting old... maybe I've just turned into "Mr sensible boring bastard has an opinion on everything".... I,m going to the bank now to collect my pension.....
