Hi-steer with Marks V6 engine mount

Post by Scott »

I've got a 1990 solid axle Hilux with commo V6, using Marks adpaters passenger side engine mount. The engine mount hangs down a bloody long way.

Does anyone have any experience of fitting histeer to a Hilux with this engine mount? Does it get in the way? Do I need to get rid of it to fit histeer?

Don't know about a lux , but it isnt a problem in a 4runner. biggest problem is clearing the sump with the draglink.

Thanks John,

I assume a Hilux would be the same as a 4runner???

I can also see the sump would be a problem. The guys at ORI told me Marks sell a reverse sump which they use sometimes. I guess the only other solution would be to do a body lift and lift the whole drivetrain.

What have you done to solve the sump problem?

at the moment I've moved the steering box forward and tilted it down slightly, using 4runner pitman arm and ORI balljoint adapter. I'm not using too much up travel from the shocks @ 4" and just have enough room to clear.
