I've got Schuler V8 Range Rover on the back of my rangie? does this mean anything at all?

That basically means that your Rangey is fitted with a special chain driven transfercase made by Schuler Presses in Germany. I think it also means you cannot reverse up steep slippery hills due to the disproportionate torque split to front and rear axles. There were other mods to the Schuler rangerover but it was too long agofor me to recall.
