HI guys,
got a mate with a Delica 4WD Van 1990 and has stripped a gear in his gearbox ... anyone know if its the same gearbox (5 speed) as the L300 VANS.
The running gear looks close to my 90 Paj NG - although i have an auto.
Any input would be great, is a 2.5tdi - the transfer case is fine but the gearbox is stuffed
Cheers

It's either a KM145 which was behind all Gen 1 2.6 Paj's and early diesels or the V5M21 alloy jobby found under the later 2.6 and 2.5 diesels.
The years 88-91 were strange changeover years for the Mitsu 4x4's until a lot of things were standardised for the Gen 2 model.
I would check out the compliance plates as this should tell you.
But if I had to bet money I would say the V5M21.......................

hi again bitsamissin - you must be the oracle of mitsi knowledge !!!
it is the km145 on the delica but the paj models are a top loader not side (which this is)
what im really needing to know at the moment is if the L300 4wd gearbox would be the same or do you mean the l300 is either the km145 or v5m21
thankyou again for your comments
always appreciated !

corkhead just had the gearbox on my 98 4x4
express rebuilt ,no change from $2900.
didnt help they sent the wrong cluster gear & it
had to be stripped down again after a test drive.
It howled in 2nd gear .
The gear box in those things are pritty small
for a work bus that hauls a fair bit of weight.
They need something a bit beefer.
Good luck !!!!
