Parts Zook I picked up

Post by -Mick- »

Bought a zook for parts today :) Now by the magic of the net I will post pics of it  It's 1.3 nt (85)

Cost 300 with good 5 speed for engine conversion, diff centres + driveshafts for my wt conversion, 1.3 transfer for S3, doors to make half doors, later model dash and some other bits.

The best bit is that it has a near perfect fibreglass roof worth way more than what I paid for the car :) ie I get all the bits I need for free after disposing of it :D

Does anyone know if the dash is a straight rewire/ bolt in from the 1.3 nt into my 1l body. Damo has this setup I think.

Good price. You should be able to part it out and make a few $ to help with your engine swap costs. Driveshaft wise, I reckon you'd be best off using the diff centres and transfer case flanges off this thing, that way you can use the front driveshaft. For the rear driveshaft take the one out of your parts truck and get it lengthened to suit.

My LWB was a 1.3 model and has a narrow track dash from factory. Your LWB (which has the 1.0 liter dash which is metal for those who don't know) will need the dash chopped out and backets welded in for the NT dash, that will probably be a bit fiddly, but you should be able to cut the brackets you need from the other tub if you want to go that way. Wiring should not be a big drama AFAIK. I haven't played with 1.0 litres before but if they shouldn't be too different in the wiring department. Besides, when you swap the dash over you'd take the loom as well which is 1/2 the wiring sorted.

You looking at doing this before or after the engine swap???

Geez Mick,

Don't mention wiring or dash's to Damo after the mess his car is in.....
I seem to recall a few choice phrases last weekend when things weren't going as planned..... :D

Have you got it sorted yet Damo.... :finger:

If you are looking to sell a few bits there are a few things I need for my Zook....I might even be interested in the roof if you haven't already sold it.

Made some good progress yesterday actually. Going to hook up fuel today and make sure it fires b4 wrapping the harness back up.
