GQ/GU shocks

Post by turps »

Well since we are doing part numbers and other stuff. I was thinking about doing a similar thing for shocks that are suitable for gq/gu's and for what lift.
I will be able to find out Koni, OME and TJM stuff easy enough. But if people can PM/Email me what part numbers etc from the various manufatures with open and closed lenghts.

Now this is for shocks that are suitable for GQ/GU's not just a shock with the right open and closed lengths but designed with valveing for a zook. Which some peole have had spec'd for there cars over the last couple years.

When I get abit of info collected I wil ask Wendle to put a link on the GQ bible.

This is very good but all coils arnt created equal. If you are looking to match the MAX travel in every coil and shock combo there is no such thing. All 2-3-4" lifts arnt the same even throuout the same brand the unsprung heights will differ with spring rates. If you tell people that a certain shock will do a certain lift they may be disappointed when they loose there coil on the first flex. Its good to have all this info but I get upset people in every day that tell me they were told that they should by XXX brand and leingth was too long for the coil. We measure every lift we do so we can match the coil-shock combo and it aint always the same
Just my 2 cents

I hear where your coming from then might just do up a list of shocks from the different manufactures that would suit the wieght of a patrol. And list there open and closed lengths. I also agree it will never be the complete list. But may give some poeple a rough idea, if they are looking at trying to work things out for them selfs.
