GQ Carby Query

Hi all,

I am new to this group so be gentle. I have a '91 GQ on Gas/Petrol. I was checking under the bonnet and found this white plastic fitting on the body of the carby near where the throttle cable attaches to the carby. This fitting appears to have a spring on it but does not seeem to do anything as it hads heaps of slack in it.

The GasPig idles and runs fine I'm just curious what this fitting does.

I started the engine and let it idle and moved this white fitting up and done and the idle was not effected.

What does this fitting do and should it be slack?

Your answers would be appreciated.

I took a picture but could not figure out how to post it with the message.

Cheers

By the sound of it i'd say it's the idle up cam for the choke. The screw for the idle RPM may have been wound back & that is why there is so much slack in it.
