whining noise

Post by elgordomuygrande »

For the last 5 months there's a whining noise when coasting. Last weekend I took my rear driveshaft apart to clean it and put some new grease on the splines. While putting it together I noticed some play in the slider radial to the rotation axis. Could that be the reason for whining? Splines look ok. Got the two pieces correctly phased and there's no play at the U-joints. Never seen any driveshaft before with radial play in the splined section of it....
smokin' is bad, especially for your curtains
