Radials should be treated as a directional tyre. The theory goes that you should never change the direction on a radial once you have done some[?]
miles on it. This has to do with both the tyre's adapting to direction and the tread wear affecting steering etc.

this is true. I think I may have done this once when I was swapping back and fourth between muds and h/t. I got some pretty severe steereing shake between 65-75km/h by sheer accident I must have done it the original way the second time and guess what, the steering shake was gone.

the rear left will wear the most because of roundabouts.. i always rotate diagonally..

The front tyres should go to the opposite corner on the back and the back should move straight forward

Ideally...

Radials should just be rotated front to back on the same side, never swapped sides.

Cross-plys should be used in a 5 wheel rotation where each tyre spends and equal amount of time in any position.

That said, I rotate my radials side-side as well as front-back and have never had a problem.

some say with constant rotation, radials can go side-to-side with no problems, but most people dont do it so often. The front left wears most on mine, i rotated front to back but wanted to roatate side, to side, so i had the tyres re-mounted on their rims OWL on the inside instaed of the outside, so they would be rotating the same direction. Worked great if you want to be sure.

Hmm, a side effect caused by having the rear right tyre off the ground I suppose :D
